So far three gorgeous LOs inspired by our November advert!

First is Mandy's LO. Mandy was inspired by the colours and the travel theme. She also utilised the intricate patterns shown in the ad.

Next is Beverley, who was inspired by the beautiful dress worn in the ad. She has used the colours and beautiful patterns to create this sweet LO! Love the cut out flowers Beverley!

November's Ad and some CT inspiration!

Here is our inspirational ad for November....a gorgeous Hermes advert. I just fell in love with the elephant and those colours :) And our technique challenge for the month is 'masking'.

So email us your LO inspired by the advert and using the technique of masking by 25th November to be in the running to win a gorgeous Wicked Princess prize!

Lisa has borrowed the stunning orange/pink colour combo, and created a flower using masking...gorgeous work Lisa!

Lauren has created a beautiful LO about her hubby " I was inspired by the Indian theme of the ad so have used Basic Grey Marakesh. I immediately thought of the Pussycat Dolls song 'JaiHo' so have used the lyrics as my title'

Gina has used the gorgeous colours and patterns in the advert to create this gorgeous (and delicious looking) LO...just wonderful!

Kirsty was completely mesmerised by the elephants in the advert and found a pic of her brother and sis in law on their recent trip to Thailand to create this relaxed, free flowing LO

October's Advert and some CT Inspiration!

This month saw me stumbling across the Anthropologie website (all in the interests of research! LOL) and finding this gorgeous advert to inspire and delight you! Lauren has taken the idea of multiple portraits with captions underneath to inspire her this month! Love this one Lauren :)

Lisa has borrowed the concept of the grid and multiple photos and been inspired by the gorgeous greens and neutrals in the advert to create this action packed LO! Gorgeous!

Gina has again been inspired by the gorgeous colours in the ad, and used some favourite pics out of some home decorator mags to create this amazing LO. Love the masking and the flourish Gina!!

Kirsty Has used the idea of muliple photos in a grid, simple lines and the type written font to create this LO of her crazy kids enjoying ice cream in the middle of winter!

Don't forget to have your LO's emailed to us (email addy in the side bar) by October 25th with a little sentence (or two) about how the advert inspired you! I cannot believe how quickly our first month on What's Ad About had gone! I am loving seeing the gorgeous entries that have come in so far, and am hoping to see a few more! Hope you all have popped the challenge on your 'to do' list!

Gina has sent through a few hints and tips for adding journalling to your LOs

This first idea I am just ITCHING to try! Gina traced around a coffee cup in pencil, journalled in the shape and then erased the circle..love how this looks Gina! Writing lists is a great, quick and effective way of adding journalling to your pages...

I love the way that journalling strips look on a page. I reeeeeeally like how doing your journalling like this takes the focus away from your handwriting! (although if my handwriting was as lovely as Gina's I wouldn't have to worry!!)

Here Gina has doubled the life of a funky journalling spot by just cutting it in half! Two uses out of the one product!

Here Gina created her own unique journalling spot by stamping with StazOn ink and using watercolour paints to add a subtle, but fabulous colour!

Thanks for those ideas Gina!!! Hopefully you all are inspired to go create and journal!

Woohooo! Our official first WAA Challenge!

You have seen the lovely prizes (Thanks Wicked Princesses)

It is now time to reveal our first inspirational ad!

All you need to do is create a LO inspired by this advert, and use journalling on the LO before midnight August 25th.

You may be inspired by the colours, the layout of the advert, the sentiment...anything!

To enter all you need to to is post your LO on your blog, with an explanation of how this ad inspired you and leave a link in the comments section of this post.

And here is how our amazing CT were inspired...

Lauren was inspired by the background print, the colours and has used lots of heartfelt journalling on her LO, like a letter to her gorgeous son:) Gina was also inspired by the background in the advert (its almost impossible NOT to be!) and the cuddling (how gorgeous is this photo??? How can you NOT feel the love?)

Kirsty has again used the background as inspiration and borrowed the colour combination to create this LO about her son. the journalling is again heartfelt and like a letter to her son

And wow..Lisa has created an amazing 8x11.5 LO inspired again by the background of the advert, the layout and the heartfelt sentiment.

We are really excited to see what you create, and can't wait to visit your blog to see how you have been inspired! So, what are you waiting for???? Get messy and start creating!!!!

I have been scrapping for just over 6 years and really enjoy the process of putting my memories and thoughts down for families to treasure for years to come.

Over the next few days our uber talented CT ladies will be introduced to you :) Everyone is VERY excited about our first month's challenge and are eagerly scouring the universe (LOL) for inspirational ads ( no more coffee or toilet trips in the add breaks ladies!)

So friends, let me introduce you to Gina!

Hi, I am Mum to 2 gorgeous girls aged 10 and 13. I live amongst the mountains, bush and apple orchards in the Huon Valley which is south of Hobart in Tasmania. We have chooks, a dog and plenty of wildlife around.

When I'm not scrapping, I work part-time for a conservation agency, make cards and jewellery, garden and play tennis.

I've been scrapping for about 3 years and can't get enough! I find it hard to put a name to my style as it's evolving all the time, but I'm really enjoying experimenting with new mediums lately, and trying to bring in different textures through the use of fabrics, paint, tape etc..and always on the lookout for unique items to add to pages such as vintage ephemera...I also love making my own embellishments and trying out new colour combinations and techniques...the possibilities are endless!

I'm really excited about the challenges here, what a great concept! .and I can't wait to see everyone else's interpretations of the ads :)

What's this Challenge Blog About??

Welcome to the new challenge blog home for Wicked Princesses. We're very excited to be going on this journey and hope that you will join us for the ride!!

These challenges will involve a new prompt being posted on the 1st day of each month and you will have until the 25th of the month to send your entries in.

What's the criteria??
A new advertisement will be the basis for your inspiration each month. It could involve a video, a poster, shabby chic vintage, bright bold colors, anything that we can find really that's a little bit "out there" and funky.

There will also be a technique criteria required on each challenge.

What's the monthly prize??
How does a prize pack or voucher, plus a GCT spot on Whats Ad About!?! blog sound?? There will also be a rak for runner up. 1st prize will be decided by the CT, and 2nd place will be a random draw to make it fairer for everyone :)

The fabulous Kirsty Piper will be heading up our CT, and we look forward to seeing what the first challenge is on August 1st when its revealed.

Until then, we're on the look out for 2-3 talented CT artists to help us along and inspire. Be sure to get your application into us by Sunday July 19th.
